MAKING WAVES, illuminated by the tremendous creativity of these legendary pioneers of free jazz, offers entirely original works ranging from the cosmic and sublime to earthy and wild. This music is warm, exciting, full of heart and passion, a memorable listening experience. On MAKING WAVES, Kali’s fifteenth album as a leader, she debuts her beautiful new sounds on synthesizer, as well as sharing her amazing versatility on soprano sax, drums, cello, voice and mizmar, with Kidd Jordan’s masterful tenor, Bobby Few’s effervescent piano, and Sirone’s mellow bass. These spontaneous compositions are empathic communications shining with joy.
“Part of New York’s original free-jazz scene, Kali’s music is fierce… pure and constant rapture.” -- The New York Times
