After twenty years of working with a variety of independent recording companies such as Enja, Soul Note and hatOLOGY, Ellery Eskelin is producing music on his own “prime source” recording label.
"Quiet Music" is a double CD release recorded in 2006 in France during the band's spring European tour. The music is presented exactly as an audience would experience the band in concert, two hours of music played with an intensity only gained from performing night after night on the road.
"Quiet Music" presents 14 new compositions by Eskelin. There are trio pieces by Eskelin w/ Parkins & Black building upon on twelve years of work together as well as quartet pieces with the addition of Jessica Constable in which Eskelin further explores new compositional strategies.
"Quiet Music" also includes several double keyboard quintet pieces with the addition of French keyboardist Philiippe Gelda giving the group a particularly massive sound.
The two discs are presented in an attractive, slim six panel cardboard sleeve with original artwork by Rami Wade Eskelin.
