hello all, just want to extend some new years greetings. hope everyone is well.
2005 promises to be a fine year for longbox recordings. as i type, our website is being re-designed by it's new lord and master, jon minor (insert applause).
it should be up and running very soon and have a credit card payment option so more can be purchased with greater ease. check back.
in release news: the dropp ensemble 7" 'ingen tid' will now be published by the fine german label, tonschacht, in june. this was supposed to be a split release from longbox and no information but steve and i couldn't get it (read: money) together.
we have now found a loving home for these pieces and hope you'll find it well worth the wait.

and now the hard part. this is where i tell you about the fantastic releases planned for the first 6-7 months of our new year. hard because i love all of these recordings and want them to get into the hands of everyone who wants one. money (once again) will be the deciding factor.

fantastic, short debut outing from chicago trio. three solo pieces (viola, percussion, bassoon). full-length to follow soon with all three members playing at the same time!
paul bradley / adam sonderberg - anoxia (lbt032 / th004) cd
long-form drone work. sure to beat your ass bloody in the dark, but in a thought provoking way.
greg davis / steven hess - decisions (lbt033) cdr
whatever you know about these gents, you don't know this. fragmented, lulling, disconcerting work all recorded in real time.
jon mueller / jim schoenecker - the interview (lbt034) cdr
glacial work from these collections of colonies of bees troopers. synth and percussion.
mark wastell - vibra #2 (lbt035) cdr
the second in a series of deep drone works employing a tam tam from the collection of the late roger sutherland. incredible.
boris hauf / martin siewert - (to be retitled) [reissue] (lbt036) cdr
a fine duo recording for saxes (hauf) and acoustic guitar (must be siewert) [both of efzeg fame] originally issued in 2002 by shameless (run by hauf), in an edition so small to type the number here would make you, the reader, vomit. this disc evokes the wild west by way of say, klaus lang. saddle up.
