Masayo Asahara, composição; Martin Archer, "violectronic"; Philip Thomas - piano preparado. São precisos 50 subscritores para financiar esta edição, que vem na sequência da anterior, de 1974, Saint Agnes Fountain.
"St Cath is a single 60 minute work following on from the outstanding success of 2003's release "Saint Agnes Fountain". In contrast to the relentless rock based nature of that earlier release, this new work is closer to "academic" electronic music, based round processed violin and electronics from Martin orchestrated with treated and untreated loops of Philip's prepared piano. Alternating passages of intensity and delicacy, the spirits of both Stockhausen and Galina Ustvolskaya are invoked. This is a subscription release - that is, I try to cover the production costs by having around 50 advance subscribers. At present I have around 15 brave souls signed up.... In Discus tradition, all subscribers are named in the CD booklet where their named can be forever honoured, etc, etc".
