I just got an email from Ben Goldberg, who is on this CD, and to whom I sent the CD just a few days ago. All he said: “Now that’s packaging.” Yeah: this one I produced entirely myself; a truly independent release. The packaging is all recyclable materials except for the CDs themselves. The cover art and CD disc art are taken from film strips of Stan Brakhage’s films, kindly provided by his estate. The photo-cards inside the “collector’s edition” now on sale were taken in the heat of the concert by local photographer Matthew Campbell. And the music itself, spread over 2 discs, is I think pretty special too, and deserving of this “packaging.” But I mainly wanted to have this package for this music as part of an appropriate homage to a great film maker.
