Italian genre-smashing free-form experimentalists Zu team with forward-thinking Japanese DJ Nobukazu Takemura on 2007's IDENTIFICATION WITH THE ENEMY: KEY TO UNDERWORLD. Predictably, the results are totally unpredictable. Skittering IDM collides with free jazz-influenced gestural noise, resulting in a wild ride that is at times intriguingly atmospheric, at others unsettling and frenetic. While those with more conventional palettes might be put off by the sonic curveballs thrown on track after track, adventurous listeners will find plenty to appreciate.
