American Landscapes Vol. 1 and 2 (Okka Disk): "The Peter Brötzmann Chicago Tentet celebrates its first decade of work together with the release of two new cds on Okka Disk, both recorded in performance at the Stirling Jazz Festival in Scotland last spring. The two albums present the music played at the concert that night in its entirety, each disk contains the music from one complete set. Buy both and a take a full sonic expedition with the band. These documents present the first examples on record of the current working methods of the group; for the last two years the band has been a total improvisation unit. Nothing scripted, nothing written, nothing predetermined. The lineup on American Landscapes features Johannes Bauer, Peter Brötzmann, Mats Gustafsson, Per-Ake Holmlander, Kent Kessler, Fred Lonberg-Holm, Joe McPhee, Paal Nilssen-Love, Ken Vandermark, and Michael Zerang. This group just completed a European tour, with the return of Jeb Bishop to the ensemble, and will present their music stateside on December 1st at the Museum Of Contemporary Art in Chicago".
