De 10 a 19 de Novembro, edição de 2006 do London Jazz Festival. Mike Westbrook's Village Band, Marc Ribot Spiritual Unity, Wayne Shorter Quartet, Stan Tracey Trio, Abdullah Ibrahim, Maria João e Mário Laginha, Sara Tavares, Randy Weston, Trevor Watts e Gibran Cervantes, Lol Coxhill, Evan Parker Electro-Acousitc Ensemble, Herbie Hancock, Cassandra Wilson, Lee Konitz, Esbjorn Svensson Trio, são alguns dos nomes que vão preencher as muitas horas de música do festival.
A edição desta noite (10/11) do Jazz On 3, da BBC Radio 3, co-sponsor do festival, promete a transmissão do concerto de abertura do London Jazz Festival, em directo do Pizza Express Jazz Club. Estão previstas actuações de Randy Weston, da Mike Westbrook's Village Band, do Martin Speake Quartet e de Evan Parker em duo com o contrabaixista norte-americano Henry Grimes. E ainda, a partir do Barbican Hall, a actuação do quarteto de Wayne Shorter, com Danilo Perez, John Patitucci e Brian Blade.
The problem with this week’s London Jazz Festival is that there are so many good gigs on, there are bound to be at least two you want to see at any one time.
