Wired News: There's an argument that sampling isn't really music; music is playing an instrument and composing. How do you respond to that?
Paul Miller a.k.a. DJ Spooky That Subliminal Kid: (Sampling) is an inheritor of folk culture where a lot of people would know the same songs, but each person would make their own version. That's what happened with blues, that's what happened with jazz, but those were much more refined patterns of folk culture.
